Learn woodwork by making your own serving platter from start to finish. This five hour workshop will guide you through the process from a 'blank' of the finest quality solid hardwood.

Description:
This beginners woodworking class is designed to give you some basic skills of fine woodworking; you will be guided through the process from a ‘blank’ of solid hardwood - right through to the final product! You will be shown how to use a variety of tools correctly/safely; and learn many different woodworking techniques, including:

  •  An electric router; and a bandsaw to cut a curve

  • The shaping of a Japanese nail (and drilling to fit)

  • Hand planing with a variety of finely tuned planes

  • Hand finishing with a coat of grapeseed oil
